History & Origins
An ancient landrace breed from the coastal Cantabrian region of northern Spain, historically used by fishermen for water work, retrieving fish and gear, guarding boats, and assisting with nets. Nearly extinct but being revived through conservation efforts, officially recognized by the Real Sociedad Canina de España (RSCE) in 2011.
